I recently had the pleasure of sitting down with one of America’s finest patriots!

Caleb Collier and I met during our time at Turning Point USA, where we delivered a presentation encouraging Christians to join the fight in protecting K-12 students from harmful ideologies.

This “reunion episode” reminded us of why we got involved in defending the Constitutional rights of everyday citizens. Caleb and I share a passion for truth, and we believe parents are the governing authority over their children’s education.

Most American families utilize public schools. Of course, government assistance may be necessary when resources are scarce. However, increased cases of physical and sexual abuse, low proficiency scores, and out-of-control spending in public schools should make every parent reconsider their options. Government institutions are rapidly becoming the worst learning environment for vulnerable children.

Why is Juneteenth so divisive? A few reasons:

  1. Leftists hijacked one of the oldest commemorations to abolish slavery.

  2. Juneteenth was proclaimed a national holiday under the Biden administration.

  3. Celebrations became mainstream during the height of BLM riots.

  4. Radical activists use the holiday to spread false narratives of systemic oppression.

  5. Most people don’t know and refuse to research American History.

The story is much simpler: The Emancipation Proclamation was signed into law by President Abraham Lincoln on January 1, 1863. Texas was the last Confederate state to free African slaves. When the slaves finally learned of their emancipation, a day of celebration commenced on June 19, 1865.

Radical activists see Juneteenth as the true independence day—yet they also think black Americans are still suffering from systemic racism and oppression.

This is a lie.

The founders may not have lived up to all their moral ideas, but they established something great when they established America. Freedom is progressive—but today’s message of liberation theology and systemic racism is evil.

A few more hard facts:

  1. No black American alive today was ever enslaved.

  2. No white American alive today has ever been a slaveowner.

  3. African slaves that ended up in America were sold by Africans.

  4. Slavery was instituted, enforced, and defended by the Democrat Party.

  5. No one is responsible for their ancestors’ sins. Therefore, no reparations are due.
